About the event
The Drop spindle has been used to spin fiber throughout the ages from Egyptian mummy wrappings to tapestries, and even the ropes and sails for ships, for almost 9000 years. The first Spindles used were essentially a straight stick approximately eight to twelve inches long on which the yarn is wound after twisting. Turkish drop spindles have a low whorl spindle that have two arms that intersect to make a cross.
Andrea, our newest Growing Up Lulu instructor, is here to show you how to spin wool into yarn. If you're a yarn lover who can't get enough of fiber arts, this class is for you! Andrea and her husband have even 3D printed a special spindle just for you. You'll also get some wool to spin and all the guidance you need. Don't miss out!
